The office promotes an online resume book of students from both the graduate school and partner schools to offer recruiters around the world a larger pool of qualified, Latino and multicultural applicants. The office has held several “Achieving Diversity” seminars for corporate recruiters and diversity officers to discuss issues related to recruiting minorities for their organizations.

NON-PROFIT EXCELLENCE

National Hispanic Business Association (NHBA)

Non-Profit Award Recipient

The National Hispanic Business Association has been the preeminent network of emerging Hispanic business professionals for more than 19 years.

Our mission is simple: We are dedicated to helping Hispanic undergraduate business students develop the real-world skills and relationships needed to launch successful professional careers.

History of the NHBA.
The first NHBA Student Leadership Conference, held in 1990 at the University of Texas at Austin, aimed at promoting the development of Hispanic students who showed promise of becoming leaders in the business world. The founders saw that these leadership conferences, held annually, would create a national network of Hispanic business student organizations and alumni, and in 1993, they established the National Hispanic Business Association (NHBA).

In becoming one of the largest nonprofits to serve Hispanic undergraduate business students in the United States, the NHBA has grown from a single student chapter to more than 40 chapters in some of the largest universities serving Hispanics in the country. Each participating organization, each alumnus, adds another valuable contact for Hispanic students and strengthens the links that unite our society.
